VAGINA GYM
This is our signature pelvic floor education program for all women. Learn how to connect with your pelvic floor to prevent and treat dysfunction. It contains secret tips to stop leakage with coughing, sneezing and exercise as well as simple things that you can change to improve your pelvic floor. A good pelvic floor isn’t all about pelvic floor exercises and this program will help you understand that! This is also included in both of our Vagina Gym Pregnancy Programs.
Your pelvic floor is a group of 32 muscles that form the bottom of your pelvis. So, it supports the entire weight of your body! These are some very small muscles with such a big job, and they are often overlooked. Let’s learn more about these muscles.
Your pelvic floor has an amazing role in assisting the birth of your baby. It is the gatekeeper of your baby to the outside world. Awareness of how to use our pelvic floor correctly helps prevent tearing of our pelvic floor as we can relax our pelvic floor muscles to allow the safe birth of our babies.
The pelvic floor is not a one trick pony! Outside of pregnancy it has many other functions. Let’s also not forget a strong and dynamic pelvic floor prevents leakage of urine, controls your bowels and wind, supports our pelvic organs preventing prolapse, improves sensation during intercourse and the strength of your orgasm. Not too shabby for an often-overlooked muscle!
The reality is 1 in 3 women who ever have a baby leak urine and women have a lifetime incidence of pelvic organ prolapse of 50%. Unfortunately, all women, whether you have had a vaginal delivery, c-section or never had a baby are at risk of these very real concerns. The great news is these issues are common AND preventable! You can prevent all of this with just some simple tips to protect your pelvic floor and strengthen these important muscles!
The Vagina Gym program is a great option to learn more about these muscles if you are not pregnant and my Pregnancy and C-Section Programs will help you thrive through pregnancy and delivery and ensure a speedy recovery.
Physical therapy and Physiotherapy are the same professions! There is, in fact, no difference between the two terms and each term can be used interchangeably. In many parts of the world including Australia, Canada, and Europe the profession is known as Physiotherapy. In the United States the profession is called Physical Therapy.
A Pelvic Floor Physio/Physical Therapist has advanced training in the pelvic floor, pelvic health and continence. To become a Pelvic Floor Physio here in Australia I completed a master’s degree in addition to my 4 year undergraduate degree that I completed over 2 years. It involved research, hands on practical classes, hours of lectures and clinical supervision by experts in the field.
To then become a Titled Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist in Australia, evidence of continuing education, research, professional development, and qualifications have to be submitted and renewed annually. So, like a Doctor, Physios cannot be experts in everything! Some Doctors are specialists in a certain area, for example an Obstetrician. It is the same for Physios/Physical Therapists.
If you are looking for a Pelvic Floor Physio make sure you review their qualifications and training, so you are sure you are seeing the best person for your personal concern.
The Pelvic Physio Online difference is that is is developed by a Pelvic Floor Physio with a master’s degree focusing on the pelvic floor. So, you know can trust that the information and course content is evidence based! Muirna works with women in a Public Maternity Hospital and outpatient Pelvic Floor Clinic in Western Australia EVERY day seeing women JUST LIKE YOU! Muirna is also a certified Pilates Instructor and Yoga Instructor.
All of this knowledge, skill and experience is rolled into fun, informative high quality video content in The Pelvic Physio Online Programs.
The Pelvic Physio Mobile App Programs vary from $30-100. These are ONCE OFF payments! No need to worry about forgetting about a recurring payment. See our Programs Page for a full breakdown and cost of each individual program.
No. These programs do not replace seeing a Pelvic Floor/Women’s Health Physio/Physical Therapist. Think of the content as a BONUS and BOOST to any Physio/Physical Therapy you are seeing to result in better outcomes.
However, if you are unable to access a Pelvic Floor/Women’s Health Physio/Physical Therapist these courses may be a great support to you in the absence of a suitably qualified professional.
